Creating a Video with 3Dsurvey's Recorder Tool

In this video, you will learn how to use the recorder tool in 3Dsurvey to make videos of your point cloud, mesh, contour lines, etc.

Welcome to 3Dsurvey tutorials! In this guide, we’ll cover how to use the Recorder tool to capture videos of 3D models, point clouds, and more.

Step 1: Accessing the Recorder

Open the relevant tab for your model, such as “Mesh.” Click the Recorder button at the top to open the recording window.

Step 2: Setting Up a Camera Path

  1. Arrange the model for the starting view and click Add.
  2. Adjust and add additional camera positions to form the full path.
  3. Preview the sequence by selecting Preview.

Step 3: Saving and Exporting the Path

  1. Save the path and choose Record.
  2. Adjust video settings, like frame rate and bitrate.
  3. Click Confirm to begin recording, and Stop to end it.

Step 4: Reviewing and Editing

Re-open the Recorder window to create a new path or edit an existing one as needed.
