Using CAD to Delete Points from a Point Cloud

In this guide, we’ll show you how to delete points from a point cloud using the CAD feature. This is particularly helpful when you need to remove unnecessary parts of your point cloud for a cleaner and more efficient workflow.

Selecting and Deleting Points
To delete points from your point cloud, follow these steps:
Activate Polygon Selection
Go to the Polygon Selection tool and click Select.
Use left mouse clicks to define the area you want to delete by circling it. Finalize the selection with a right mouse click.Adjust Your Selection
- If the selected area is too large, click Deselect and repeat the process.
- To start over, use the Clear option to remove the selection entirely.
Delete the Selected Area
When satisfied with your selection, click Delete Selected to remove the points from the cloud.
Using the "Delete Other" Tool
For a quicker approach to keep only the area of interest:
- Select the area you wish to retain using the same Polygon Selection method.
- Click Delete Other to remove all points outside the selected area.
Undoing or Redoing Changes
If you’re not happy with the edits:
- Use the Undo option to revert your changes.
- If you change your mind again, click Redo to reapply them.
