Contour lines

Hi everyone and welcome to Contour line calculation tutorial.

3Dsurvey is a perfect tool for land surveyors. This time we’ll show you how easy it is to create contour lines based on a digital surface model.

As you can see, the DSM has already been calculated. The grid cell size for this particular DSM is 0.2m.

To calculate contour lines simply click ‘Calculate’. Set the equidistance to, let’s say, 1m and click ‘Continue’. Contour lines get calculated automatically, all we need to do is check the result. It’s available through DSM, Point cloud and DOF tabs. For any extra modifications access it through Contour lines tab, turn the Contour lines height on/off and export everything in DXF or PDF format.

Here’s our final export in pdf with perfectly depicted Contour lines. Quick and super easy.
